This week's cakes were all very different in their theme. It started off with an R2D2 cake for Brianna who was turning 11.
I have made this cake before and it is a lot of fun to create. It is a milk chocolate and caramel layered mudcake with milk chocolate ganache and fondant covering. If there are any Star Wars fans reading this, I hope I have managed to re-create R2D2 closely.
Natalie who is turning 14 today requested a Mickey Mouse Face cake. This involved A LOT of black buttercream, I would love to see the mouths of the birthday guests after they have eaten this birthday cake!!
Mickey Mouse is moist butter cake with buttercream icing.
The next cake is the first 3 tier cake that I have made. Robyn is turning 40 and is celebrating with a 70's / disco themed party. Her sister ordered this cake for her.
Three flavours make up this huge cake. The bottom tier is dark chocolate mudcake, the middle tier is caramel mudcake and the top tier is milk chocolate mudcake. It is a really heavy cake and I just hope I can deliver it in one piece later on!!
The last order for the weekend is for a lovely lady who is celebrating her Hen's Day today. I am making her wedding cake and cupcakes in a few weeks time. The theme for the Hen's Day is everything pink. I think these cupcakes fit that theme quite well!
Earlier this week the school fete was on and I made some disney cookies for the cake stall. I have only used these cookie cutters a couple of times, but they are my favourite.
I am going to relax for the rest of the day and then it is back to baking again tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend.

It's all about the boys this week!
After having a week of all things pink in the lead up to Claire's birthday, my baking this week has been all things boys.
The first cake was for a 40th birthday. This cake was cherry ripe mudcake filled with dark chocolate ganache and fondant covering. The electric guitar was hand modeled from modeling paste. All was going well with the cake until I went to place the guitar on top and the end broke off! I panicked for a moment, but luckily I could fix it with a little sugar glue.
My eldest son's kindergarten teacher welcomed her new baby boy into the world last week, so I baked some cookies for her. Vanilla sugar cookies with fondant icing and a little message!
An aeroplane theme was the request for the next birthday. Oliver is turning 2 and his dad is a pilot. Chocolate cupcakes with buttercream swirls and hand modeled aeroplanes, also hand cut vanilla sugar cookies with fondant icing.
The last cake was for another little boy turning 2. His request was a Chuggington theme. White chocolate mudcake with white chocolate filling and fondant covering. The trains were hand modeled from modelling paste.
Next week involves some more fun cakes including a groovy 70's theme and Mickey Mouse, so be sure to come back later in the week to check them out. Enjoy your week.

The party was a great success and this was partly due to the fabulous suppliers who provided the following:
Sharnel Dollar Designs : tulle pom pom's, round candy jars, party bags, fairy dust, square platters and pink smarties.
Sambellina : party ware and gift tags - Kate was wonderful and posted these directly to me as they were only being shipped to suppliers this week. Thankyou :)
Scissors Paper Rock Designs : invitations, menu labels and party bag labels.
Row's Pottery Shed : custom made cake stand.
Enchanted Belle's : custom cake topper.
My Little Jedi : divine twine and ABC cups.
Stitcheroos : Birthday outfit.
The dessert table goodies were all made by me. The menu consisted of caramel and chocolate cake balls, vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, pink smartie cookies, rocky road, pink smarties, pink mushrooms and marshmallows as well as the birthday cake. The initial sign and table tu-tu were make by me too.

An Aussie Cake and an Irish Cake!
Last week's cakes consisted of a very Aussie theme and an Irish theme. Both cakes were to celebrate milestone birthday's, a 21st and a 50th.
The first cake was for Matt who was celebrating his 21st birthday. He requested a VB Beer Bottle cake. It was dark chocolate mudcake with chocolate ganache and chocolate fondant covering. The logo was created using an edible image, something I had not used before.
The 50th birthday cake was for Graeme, his wife requested a shamrock cake, which represented a football team he played for when he was younger. This was also dark chocolate mudcake with chocolate ganache and fondant covering.
It is all things pink in our house this week, as we are preparing for Claire's 1st birthday party. Be sure to come back later in the week to see all thee details.
