There was a wedding cake, a 3rd birthday cake, a 12th birthday cake, a 10th birthday cake and some cupcakes.
Our lovely neighbours, Ray and Amy, were married last weekend and I had the privilege of creating their wedding cake. Amy chose a simple design that fitted perfectly with the theme of the wedding and suited the MrsKThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02386806500333914360noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686139068069999861.post-71833443540212225412012-10-12T07:25:00.000+11:002012-10-12T07:25:36.717+11:0011 on 11 ~ October. Some amazing photographers and bloggers (Angie Baxter, Sharon Mallin, El Hogan, Chantelle Ellem) that I follow have been participating in a project once a month - 10 on 10. Where they take 10 photo's on the 10th day of the month. I decided to take part in October, unfortunately I was working on the 10th, so pushed it back to the 11th and took 11! So here they are:

Where have the last 3 years gone? It only seems like yesterday that we were preparing for her arrival.
I found her party dress a few months ago on Pinterest and traced it back to Etsy. It had a balloon theme, so we decided to theme the party around the balloons.
Next came the invitations. I searched online and found the perfect MrsKThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02386806500333914360noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686139068069999861.post-66703260353352049262012-07-10T19:40:00.001+10:002012-07-10T19:40:49.491+10:00Baking for Fun!
It has been a while since I have blogged, no excuse really I just seem to have lost interest for a little while. I have been reading my favourite blogs, not commenting much, but still enjoying reading. I have also become a little bit addicted to Pinterest! I spend so much time on there, pinning lot's of interesting things.
I haven't been making many cakes lately, just family birthdays. His birthday fell on Good Friday, so he celebrated a few days early with his friends from kindergarten. This year we have been busy so I took the easy option and held his party at a playroom. It is perfect for 5-6 year olds.
Oliver chose a spooky theme for his party this year, so I set about looking for the perfect invitation. We had a nice family dinner at our place with my mum and dad, uncle and grandparents. My sister and brother and their families were away camping, so we will celebrate Orthodox Easter with them next weekend.
We enjoyed a delicious baked dinner made by me and a scrumptious apple pie made by my nan.

Now that I am only creating cakes for family I have a little more time on my hands, so decided to try a frilly cake.
The cake is a cherry ripe mudcake with dark chocolate ganache filling. It is covered in MrsKThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02386806500333914360noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-686139068069999861.post-21122960270416690782012-03-07T07:09:00.000+11:002012-03-07T07:09:46.563+11:00Ruby's 8th Birthday.Last weekend our niece Ruby turned 8. She received a little bunny for her birthday, so I decided to theme her cake around rabbits. You may remember me making her a life like rabbit cake last year for her birthday.
The number 8 cake was made up of caramel mudcake and white chocolate mudcake, filled with white chocolate ganache and covered with ivory fondant.

Rachel and Mick chose a design and sent it to me, again I am unsure of the original source.
As the wedding was only a small family affair, they didn't require a large amount of cake so we decided on using styro foam cake dummies for most of the cake. I have created cakes for them in the past so it was nice to be able to be a part of their special day.
Susan sent me a photo of the design she liked, unfortunately I don't know the original source. The wedding colour palette was ivory.

I was hoping 2012 was going to go by a little slower.

It has taken me a while to get to it, but as it is the 1st December today, what better day to write this post! Here are a few of my favourite things about the festive season.

I am hoping to find some time to blog now that we are heading into the Christmas season!

As each birthday comes along for one of our children I can't believe how quickly the time goes by. She is such a gorgeous little girl, very grown-up for a 2 year old, which I think is a result of having two older brothers who adore her and are continually teaching her.

A few weeks ago our oldest son, Lachlan, turned 8! Can't believe the time has gone so quickly since he was a babe in our arms.

There is always something chocolaty that catches my eye. Recently Leanne from Sweet Style, has used pannacotta in little glass pots on dessert tables that she has created. Yesterday she shared the recipe on her blog. A special thankyou to Jacki of Blissfully Sweet

I made my usual easy sponge cake, coloured it a pretty pink, whipped up some fresh cream and chopped up some yummy strawberries.
This is the result!
These little desserts are so easy to make and look really pretty. I am not sure whether it is because I have eaten some really awful baked cheesecakes in coffee shops and restaurants or whether it is that most recipes have a lot of steps and need to bake for a while.
