Our beautiful little girl, Claire, celebrated her 2nd birthday last weekend. As each birthday comes along for one of our children I can't believe how quickly the time goes by. She is such a gorgeous little girl, very grown-up for a 2 year old, which I think is a result of having two older brothers who adore her and are continually teaching her.
Earlier in the year I came across a very pretty rainbow dress on Etsy and decided that this would be Claire's birthday dress. The party was then themed around "rainbows". I have been gathering goodies for the party for months and was thrilled with the way it all came together on the day.
The feature of the party was the dessert and lolly table. I made the rainbow garland back drop and the "Somewhere over the Rainbow" print was courtesy of Scissors Paper Rock Designs, and fitted the theme perfectly.
The cake was the feature of the dessert table. It was a rainbow layer cake finished with a rough buttercream and topped with a wooden clothes pin dolly in a dress that matched Claire's party dress. The topper was lovingly made by Sarah of Enchanted Belles.
I baked all of the goodies that made up the dessert table. Which included meringues, cupcakes in a jar, vanilla bean pannacotta and buttercream swirl cookies. The lollies included gummy bears, jelly beans, marshmallow pops, "Happy Birthday" rock candy, giant freckles, rainbow lollypops and popcorn. I handmade the tissue paper pom poms that were used as the sticks for the marshmallow pops.
The take home favours were mini gumball machines, that were filled with single coloured m&m's and smartie cookies in cute little rainbow confetti treat bags. The guests also had their own glass bottle that was filled with rainbow coloured cordial.
The party was a lot of fun and all of the guests had fun blowing bubbles from rainbow coloured bubble pots!
Here are a few more photo's of the birthday girl in her pretty rainbow dress, with her brothers and with her mumma of course :)
Big birthday wishes to our little princess xxx

Lachlan's Scooby Doo Themed 8th Birthday Party - Featured on Amy Atlas Events!
I am over the moon to see his party featured on Amy Atlas Events this morning, wow what a dream come true for me, to see my work on this amazing party site. Thankyou Amy, Lisa and the team!
A few weeks ago our oldest son, Lachlan, turned 8! Can't believe the time has gone so quickly since he was a babe in our arms.
He celebrated with family on Saturday and then a party with school friends yesterday. He chose a Scooby Doo theme for the party, so I took the main two colours from the Mystery Machine and themed the dessert and candy table around them.
The centrepiece of the table was the cake. I made the mystery machine, it was layered rainbow butter cake covered with fondant.
The Dessert and Candy table was bright and fresh with the main colours being aqua and lime green complimented with white cake stands and platters.
There were many treats on the table for the children to enjoy. They were thrilled that this was all for them and they could choose anything they wanted!
The treats included green and blue jelly pots, vanilla and chocolate cupcakes and vanilla sugar cookies.
Another feature of the party was the drink station. Blue "Mystery Machine Fuel" (creaming soda cordial) was decanted from a gorgeous glass dispenser into cute glass bottles with paper straws that were personalised. The guests were impressed that they could refill there own bottle as required.
The party box favours and fairy floss featured on the drink station too. The boxes were filled with lots of treats including scooby snacks, a pen, a lolly pop and a chocolate bar. The fairy floss accompanied the favours.
A great time was had by all the guests at the party, the sun was shining, there was lots of laughing and giggling!
Here is the birthday boy and his brother just before the party started.
Happy birthday to our beautiful boy, love you to the moon and back xxx
